In our final project before our bachelor project we had to design a prosthetic which focuses on the complexity of the whole process. We decided to take a rather technical way and focus solely on the issue of comfort and breathability, which is a big issue among leg prosthetic wearers. The solution is a 3D printed liner out of medical grade silicone which can adapt throughout the day and let the air through for cooling. This also tackles the issue of sweat build-up and stops the blue stump syndrome. Throughout the project we had several meetings with industry experts and took their opinions into our project.
